The history of southern federal university creation: «The final stretch»

Abstract

The article is the second of three possible publications on the prehistory of the creation of the Southern Federal University. The work is an abridged summary of a chapter from a previously planned monograph and contains factual material that was available to the author. It covers the last period (the first half of 2006) before the Government adopted Decree No. 1616-r dated November 23, 2006 on the establishment of the Southern Federal University. The proposals of the executive bodies of the Rostov region and the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District and the final decision of the Government are important. The work is a logical continuation of the previous publication (1). The author is aware of the great contribution and original propoals of the rectors of RSU A.V. Belokon, RGAII V.I. Kolesnik, RSPU V.I.
