Abstract
The article reveals the problems of improving the quality of art education for preschool children in China and Russia. Children art differs from adult art, and in this regard, serious problems arise with assessing the quality of children’s art education. Based on the analysis of the current educational situation (the educational base is weak, and the artistic-aesthetic abilities and creativity of children are usually deviated), the author reveals that a single standard of assessment, one-sided content of assessment and a single method of assessment have severely limited the development of children artistic abilities. The article put forward three strategies: to pay attention to subjective assessment rather than objective assessment in children art education; to focus on artistic spirit rather than artistic skills; to focus on the self-evaluation of children rather than adults’ assessment.
